World Sepsis Day Event 2023: The Enactment of the WHO Sepsis Resolution on the National and International Level

September 12, 2023, 12:30 am to 10:00 am

Location: Berlin & Online (Free)

Since its inception in 2012, World Sepsis Day has heightened global sepsis awareness, leading to tangible progress. The recent commitment by G7 health ministers to strengthen sepsis detection, treatment, and alignment with antimicrobial efforts is a significant advancement. This event hosted by the Global Sepsis Alliance will bring together global experts in sepsis, with the aim of:

  • underpinning the urgent need for implementation of these demands at national and international level;
  • demonstrating what health systems strengthening and health literacy interventions for sepsis prevention and early detection in civil society have contributed to reducing the number of preventable deaths from sepsis; and
  • demonstrating what contribution innovations in the field of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infections and sepsis can make to our goal: "Zero preventable deaths from sepsis".
