Oakley (he/him) is currently the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Manager for the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute, where he works closely to support the integration of more inclusive and intersectional practices into the research done at BCCHR. He is committed to fostering environments and cultures where all identities feel safe, affirmed, and celebrated. Oakley brings over six years of experience in anti-racism research, facilitation, policy analysis, and consulting. His education background includes a Master of Education and a Master of Arts in History, and his academic research examined the intersections of race, education, and incarceration, which, coupled with his own lived and work experiences, inform his approach to EDI work. As our Advisor, Oakley will guide the development of JEDI initiatives, share his insights on the subcommittee's practices, and provide JEDI-related educational/informational resources that would benefit the cluster’s community.
