Clinical Initiatives and Innovation Lead, Critical Care BC

Sybil received her Masters of Nursing with a teaching focus from Athabasca University and has worked in Critical Care as a direct care RN, Clinical Educator, and as Clinical Nurse Specialist in a regional role with Interior Health Authority. Sybil has worked with Health Quality BC to establish Quality Standards work in partnership with Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and as the Provincial Quality Lead for the BC Sepsis Network. Sybil is now the Clinical Initiatives and Innovation Lead with CCBC. In partnership with Emergency Care BC (ECBC), Sybil aims to reduce unwarranted variation in sepsis identification, management and follow up, to reduce sepsis mortality across the province.

Sybil is currently enrolled in the Sepsis Canada/CIHR Lifting Research Training program, with interest in designing resources patients and families need when they are discharged from ICU, including sepsis survivors. In particular, Sybil is interested in establishing supports for under-resourced populations discharged from Critical Care to more rural/remote areas of the province.
